Cat-claws Protection for airframe tent “pole” bases.

Installing the plastic sheeting in the tub bases to cat-proof the tent.

The reason for the tent mobs (anything new has to be investigated)..

White PTFE 0.3mm Sheet cut to size, hole cut for the valves and corners rounded. The valves were removed so the plastic sheet could be put in position.

Plastic sheet in position.

Valve reassembled, just need to do up the zip on the air pole.

Same process for other valves, other corners, two with no holes and one with a double hole. We may need to put a stitch at the top and bottom if they are prone to movement.

We’ve also replaced the cable ties on the zips with string so they can be accessed easily.

The Awning

We are quite pleased with the tent, although still to use it in anger. I will write a review for the blog when I eventually do.
I’m hoping that having air poles, they will not be damaged if exposed to strong winds if/when left unattended.
The PTFE plastic sheeting was sourced from eBay and appears to be cat claw proof in testing (only tested with above mention cat). I hope this is of use to someone.

See Airframe tent (medium) 3x3M, in the kit reviews (For general use with the van) section for an update on how this tent and its modifications perform.
